Merry Christmas friends! I hope that you all are enjoying the day with those you love! Here on Kauai the weather warmed up just in time for us to have a Christmas eve picnic on the beach. We went over to Foodland for sushi, poi and fried chicken then headed over to Lydgate beach. I know it sounds like a strange food combination but, it was tasty! Lydgate beach was full of visitors soaking up the sunshine and playing in the water. The sun felt so nice! ![]() As I was lounging on the sand I looked up towards the horizon and saw whales! They were doing giant whale belly flops, making huge splashes as they landed on the water! The whales got a lot of attention as they are so much fun to watch. It felt like an early Christmas present! Here's our little tree....a live Norfolk pine. We wrapped the pot in Hawaiian print fabric and decorated the tree with colorful glass balls, vintage ornaments that belonged to my grandmother and tinsel. It's a happy tree! Wishing you and yours the happiest of holidays!
Thank you for reading my diary!

Aloha Friends,
It's getting chilly here on Kauai! Dare I say cold? Yesterday, according to the National Weather Service, Lihue set a record low of 55F! My car said it was 57F when we took our youngest to school in the morning. We saw folks bundled up! 55F really doesn't sound that cold but, homes here do not have heating so it did feel a bit chilly even inside. Later in the day we had a lovely afternoon with bright sunshine and temps hovering around 78F. We picked up a Christmas tree. It's a cute little Norfolk pine. Live in the pot. I think this tree will be perfect for our tiny home. If you look closely at the photo you'll see that I have socks on. Brr. Thanks for reading my diary! |
